AC & Heating Service

Climate Control You Can Count On — Year Round

Missouri summers get hot and winters get cold — your climate system works hard in both directions. At Auto Tech Services, we diagnose and repair the full heating and cooling system, not just recharge refrigerant and send you on your way. If the air isn't right, we find out why.

Our technicians are equipped to handle everything from a straightforward refrigerant recharge to a complete compressor replacement, heater core repair, or blend door actuator diagnosis. We service all makes and models, and we'll tell you exactly what we find before we do anything.

What We Service

Our Approach

We start every climate service with a full system inspection — not just a pressure check. We verify the compressor, check for leaks at all connection points, test the fan operation, and confirm the blend doors are moving correctly. If there's a problem, you'll know exactly what it is and what it costs to fix before we touch anything.

We back our work with a solid warranty and won't upsell you on parts you don't need. If a recharge is all you need, that's all we'll do.

Why A/C Systems Fail — and Why a Recharge Alone Rarely Fixes It

Here's something a lot of shops won't tell you: refrigerant doesn't get used up. Your A/C is a sealed system — if it's low, the refrigerant went somewhere, and that means a leak. Topping it off without finding the leak buys you a few weeks or months, then you're paying for the same service again. That's why we start with proper leak detection, using dye and electronic detection to trace where the system is losing charge — whether that's a compressor shaft seal, a corroded condenser up front, an evaporator buried in the dash, or a loose fitting in between.

Not every climate problem is a leak, either. Blend door actuators — the small motors that direct air hot or cold, up or down — fail constantly on modern vehicles, and the symptoms mimic a refrigerant problem. If the fault turns out to be in the wiring or control modules, our advanced electrical diagnosis covers that side too. Either way, you'll see photos of what we found in your free digital vehicle inspection before you approve any repair.

Serving Versailles & the Lake Area

Auto Tech Services is located on State Route 52 in Versailles, MO, and we've been family-owned since 2010. Drivers come to us from across Morgan County and the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks — Eldon, Stover, Barnett, Laurie, Gravois Mills, Sunrise Beach, and the towns in between. In this part of Missouri, climate control isn't a luxury: summers push past 95 with humidity to match, and winter mornings can start well below freezing. A dead A/C in July or a cold heater in January isn't something you want to put off.

If your repair takes more than a quick visit, ask about our loaner cars so you're not stuck without a ride — or wait it out in our comfortable waiting room. We're open Mon–Fri 8:00–5:00, and you can book online or call or text 573-378-7300.

A/C & Heating FAQs

Why is my A/C blowing warm air?
The most common cause is low refrigerant from a leak — but a failed compressor clutch, a bad condenser fan, or a stuck blend door actuator can all produce the same symptom. Guessing wrong wastes money, so we test the whole system rather than just topping it off. If the fault traces back to wiring or a control module, our advanced electrical diagnosis handles that too.
How often does car A/C need to be recharged?
It shouldn't — not on any schedule. Your A/C is a sealed system, and refrigerant doesn't get used up the way oil or coolant can. If the system is low, it has a leak, and recharging without finding it just delays the same problem. We locate the leak, fix it, then recharge the system properly so it stays fixed.
Why does my A/C smell musty?
That smell usually comes from mold and mildew growing on the evaporator core, where moisture collects every time the A/C runs. A dirty cabin air filter makes it worse. We can clean and treat the evaporator and replace the cabin air filter — a quick, inexpensive fix that makes a big difference.
Why is my heater blowing cold air?
Common causes include low coolant, a stuck thermostat, a failed blend door actuator, or a clogged heater core. Some of those are quick fixes and some aren't, which is why we diagnose first — we quote before we start, so call or text 573-378-7300 and we'll get you an honest answer.
Do you service both R-134a and R-1234yf systems?
Yes — we service both older R-134a systems and the newer R-1234yf systems found in most late-model vehicles, along with everything else in the climate control system, on domestic and import cars, trucks, and SUVs.
